A former Utah County commissioner is suing the other commissioners for allegedly accusing him of sexual harassment that he says did not happen.
Greg Graves was the subject of a complaint filed in 2017 that said he made sexually suggestive comments to a female employee there and rubbed her leg above the knee. Many called on Graves to step down but he instead waited until his term ended in January.
An investigator hired by the county could not substantiate the claim. But he did conclude that Graves retaliated against the woman after she asked the commissioner to skip an off-site training session she planned to attend.
Graves’ lawsuit says the allegations were “false” and hurt his reputation. He is suing for defamation.
The Salt Lake Tribune will update this developing story.
