A 10-year-old boy was flown to Primary Children’s Hospital after he was pinned under a truck that crashed into his house near 3300 South and 300 East on Friday.
A man in his 50s was driving the Chevrolet Silverado at a fast speed eastbound on 3300 South when he lost control of the vehicle, said Sergeant Matthew S. Oehler of the South Salt Lake Police Department. The truck veered at an angle through a strip mall parking lot and a residential fence before crashing into the house, Oehler said.
Bystanders helped safely remove two other children, ages 2 and 5.
No adults appeared to be in the home at the time of the crash. The 10-year-old was taken by ambulance to an area hospital in serious condition before the decision was made to fly him to the children’s hospital, where he was reunited with his mother.
